For some, the promise of a new year brings hope and optimism. For others, after 2020 and 2021, the beginning of the 2022 work year may have us feeling overwhelmed, anxious and uncertain.
There is one thing that almost all business owners have in common – they created their business with the hope that it would enable them to lead a more rewarding life. That it would allow them to pursue their passions, while rewarding them personally, professionally and financially.
Last year we surveyed 100 business owners. The findings revealed that:
30% rate their stress levels as high or very high.
68% work more than 40 hours a week.
75% believe their business relies on them to continue functioning and running.
46% would benefit from more support, guidance and advice running their business.
84% want their business to be more profitable.
As we studied the survey responses, one thing became clear to us – many business owners not just wanted, but needed, their business to be more rewarding. Most, 84% in fact, wanted their business to be more financially rewarding, but personal and professional reward was also lacking for so many of our respondents.
As the 2022 work year gets into full swing, like most business owners, you are probably planning, strategising and setting goals for the year and years ahead. No doubt, the uncertainty brought on by this latest wave of COVID and the impact it has had on businesses across the country is weighing on your mind – whether your business has been directly impacted, largely unaffected or even benefited from COVID…
While the cloud of uncertainty caused by the pandemic continues to shadow each and every one of us, we can’t continue to allow it to overshadow our work and personal lives.
If one thing has become clear this summer it is that COVID is here to stay. With this reality, it is more important than ever before to prioritise what you as a business owner want from your life and your business and put in place the plans to make it happen.
At Maestro we specialise in working with business owners to help them make their businesses more rewarding. We are not about telling you what your business should be, but rather providing you with the support, systems and strategies you need to make it what you want it to be – whether you are just starting out or looking to step out.
2022 has the potential to be the year that you make your business more rewarding. To do it, you simply need to commit to it. Once you take that first, all important step and focus on what matters most to you (yes you, not your business) you can begin.
If the idea prioritising you and your needs and wants is daunting, the Maestros are here to guide and support you – so why not get in touch and get the ball rolling with an initial conversation?
